Frogs Run Past TWU

TCU dominated the contest on Sunday afternoon, outshooting the Pioneers, 28-4, including 16-1 in the second half. The Frogs had a standout day defensively, holding TWU to no corner kicks and only four shot attempts in the shutout victory. Overall, TCU did not allow Texas Woman's to record a shot attempt until the 30:29 mark of the first half. In the second half, the Pioneers lone shot attempt came at the 49:48 mark and it was blocked by the Horned Frogs.

Defender Alex Mechalske put TCU on the board in the 8th minute of the match, blasting a ball from about 20 yards out. Lizzy Karoly gave the Purple and White an early 2-0 lead, scoring off a deflection inside the box. Jackie Torda scored two second half goals to seal the 4-0 win.

With the victory, the Horned Frogs moved to 7-4-0 on the season, while Texas Woman's dropped to 2-5-0.
TCU will open its conference season next Saturday at New Mexico. Start time for the match is set for 5 p.m. MT.
