The TCU women’s basketball team made its first appearance of the season in the ESPN/USA Today coaches’ poll Tuesday, coming in at No. 24. The Frogs were ranked No. 23 in Monday’s updated Associated Press Top 25 rankings.
This season marks the first time that TCU has been ranked in both major national polls this late in a season since 2003-04, when the squad kept itself in the rankings each week throughout the season.
TCU, 13-4 overall and 3-1 in the Mountain West Conference, made its first appearance in the coaches’ poll since it was rated 24th on Dec. 16, 2008. The Lady Frogs reached a high position of 22nd during the 2008-09 season. The squad collected 52 points Tuesday, which fell just ahead of Kentucky at No. 25 (46 points) and behind 24th-ranked Texas (89 points).
